LBHS biathlete carries Methow, U.S. banners to European competition

On Thursday (Feb. 4), Liberty Bell High School senior Claire Waichler returned from Romania, where she was part of the U.S. Team competing in the World Junior Biathlon Championships.

On Sunday morning, she was at Mazama practicing with the Methow Valley Nordic Team, for which she competes as a skier — without her .22-caliber biathlon rifle.

MVNT finishes qualifiers putting six on Junior National Team

The Methow Valley Nordic Team (MVNT) traveled to Spokane last weekend for the final PNSA qualifier of the season and the U14 Championships. Conditions were touch-and-go leading up to the event with all the warm weather and rain, but Mt. Spokane had enough snow to put on a decent event.
