Construction crews on Glover Street in Twisp will remain busy this month, leading up to the annual street festival Twisp Fest on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Glover Street will be closed at its intersections with Fourth and Fifth avenues this weekend, Sept. 12–13, to allow new concrete sidewalks to cure.
All sidewalk work in Twisp’s commercial district, between Twisp and Third avenues, was to be completed by Wednesday (Sept. 9), according to a Sept. 5 email from Mayor Hans Smith to downtown building and business owners.
By the end of next week, Friday, Sept. 18, the bumps drivers are experiencing on Glover should be paved over. Expect intermittent closures as asphalt is laid along the four blocks between Twisp and Fifth avenues.
The following week, Sept. 21–25, crews will focus on irrigation and landscaping, Smith said. Parts for the new canopies to be installed in the commercial district should arrive that week.
The $5.2 million Glover Street renovation project is scheduled to continue into October. The project is fully funded by state grants and loans.
