2019 Winthrop ’49er Days schedule

< FRIDAY, MAY 10 >

Noon: Washington Outfitters & Guides Association’s (WOGA) annual Ride to Rendezvous wagon train arrives in downtown Winthrop and travels down Riverside Avenue; WOGA joins other sponsors in hosting several wounded warriors on the Ride to Rendezvous

< SATURDAY, MAY 11 >

Downtown

10:30 a.m.: Vigilantes and West Coast Country Heat Line Dancers on Riverside Avenue

11 a.m.: Annual ’49er Days parade including cowboys, pack strings, mountain men. floats, old cars and more, on Riverside Avenue, featuring the Grand Marshal Doug Mohre and Grand Lady Sheri Mohre, and Junior Royalty Queen Lillian Cooley and Princess Shelby White

Noon – 2p.m.: Old-fashioned games in front of Sheri’s Sweet Shoppe including egg-toss contest, pie-eating contest, gummy bear spitting contest and rock-paper-scissors contest

Noon – 4 p.m.: Mechanical bull rides ($2 suggested donation) and horse rides ($5 suggested donation) on Riverside Avenue, from The Tenderfoot to the Wine Shed

In Mack Lloyd Park

Noon: Outfitter display camps, coffee and campfire-cooked food available for purchase all afternoon and continuing on Sunday. Other activities include live music at the site of the former bandshell, packing demonstrations, crafts and merchandise vendors, mountain men tomahawk throwing and bow-and-arrow target shooting demonstrations, roping and bull whip lessons

Noon – 2 p.m.: Food available for purchase — hot dogs and brats by the Methow Valley Snowmobile Association, pulled pork by Winthrop Kiwanis

5 – 6:30 p.m.: Outfitters’ dinner served by WOGA includes steak, barbecue and Dutch oven fixings for $25

In the Barn

7 – 9 p.m.: “Around the Campfire” includes cowboy poetry, music and campfire stories for $10

9:30 p.m.: Country western family dance for $7

< SUNDAY, MAY 12 >

In the park

8 – 10 a.m.: Mother’s Day cowboy breakfast served by WOGA for $10

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: live Western auction and WOGA packing competition
