Three-day Rendezvous Festival debuts at Sun Mountain next month

April 20, 2018 by Methow Valley News

Mother’s Day weekend is going to be a lot more interesting this year.

In addition to the annual Winthrop ’49er Days activities, a new event — the Rendezvous Festival — will debut at Sun Mountain on May 11-13.

The festival will celebrate recreation and the arts in the Methow Valley. Entertainment will include 14 bands, plus opportunities for world-class trail running, mountain biking, hiking, paddling, rock climbing and more with easy access from the festival site.

Scheduled acts are Michael Menert & the Pretty Fantastics, Joshua James, Saint Claire, The Lowest Pair, World’s Finest, Rvivr, Royal Jelly Jive, The Oly Mountain Boys, The Pine Hearts, Danville, Danbert Nobacon and the Axis of Dissent, The Full Uplift, Kirk Reese and Thee Bitterroot Beets.

A weekend pass is $120; Friday pass $60; Saturday pass $70. Camping is available nearby. Get a discount on rooms at Sun Mountain Lodge if you call to reserve a room by April 18.

Visit therendezvousfest.com and outdoorartsandrec.org for complete information schedules and tickets.

The festival is presented by Outdoor Arts & Recreation a nonprofit based in Winthrop.

“Our main focus is to get people outdoors to participate in healthy exercise, appreciate nature, to create and engage with art by combining outdoor recreation and art in fun, creative and inclusive ways” Outdoor Arts & Recreation said in a press release.
