Give Methow, a valley-wide campaign to generate financial support for local nonprofits, is underway and will continue through October. The Community Foundation of NCW is coordinating the crowd-funding campaign, which can be accessed at www.givemethow.org.
The website includes a list of participating organizations and information about their work in the community.
The minimum donation is $10, and multiple organizations can be supported in one online transaction. The Community Foundation is covering the credit card fees, so 100 percent of every donation supports the nonprofits. All gifts are tax deductible.
An anonymous donor has seeded a “stretch pool” with $30,000. Each Give Methow participant will receive a percentage of the stretch pool based on the total amount they raise. Additional gifts to the stretch pool will support all Give Methow participants.
Each “Funday Monday” of the campaign, the foundation will draw a name from all donations on that day and the winner will receive $500 to spend on Give Methow any way they choose.
Organizations involved in the campaign are the Methow Valley Fund, Cascadia Music, Confluence Gallery and Arts Center, Methow Arts Alliance, Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival, The Merc Playhouse, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, Friends of the Pool, Methow Trails, Methow Valley Citizens Council, Methow Valley Community Center, Methow Valley Interpretive Center, Methow Valley Nordic Team, Shafer Historical Museum, Winthrop Ice & Sports Rink, Classroom in Bloom, Little Star Montessori School, Methow Valley Community School, Public School Funding Alliance, TwispWorks Foundation, Methow Conservancy, Methow Recycles, Aero Methow Rescue Service, Jamie’s Place, Methow At Home, Methow Valley Riding Unlimited, Room One and The Cove.
