An early morning fire on Monday (June 8) destroyed a mobile home at River’s Edge Mobile Home Park in Twisp, as well as a car and boat parked next to the mobile home.
Firefighters from Okanogan County Fire District 6 responded to a call at about 1 a.m. and arrived at the trailer park to find the mobile home fully involved, said Fire Chief Don Waller.
Firefighters worked to prevent the fire from spreading to mobile homes next door, Waller said. They left the scene at about 4:30 a.m., he said.
Twisp Police Chief Paul Budrow said the only occupant of the mobile home at the time of the fire, Melissa Arbogast, escaped unharmed.
Budrow said an investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire, which caused a propane tank and gas tank near the home to explode.
