Hit the trail, avoid the rattlers
The Rattler Trail Runs, featuring 4-mile, 9-mile and half-marathon distances, will take off from Pipestone Flats (near Campbell Lake) on April 19. Registration is at the race site from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., or online at www.methowendurance.com/the-rattler-trail-runs/. Races begin at 9 a.m. Cost is $20 to $40. Join a trail work party
With winter snow receding from the trails, the Methow Chapter of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will begin a new season of work parties to improve trail conditions and riding opportunities.
The first work party will be held Sunday (April 13) at the Sun Mountain trails. Volunteers should meet at the Chickadee Trailhead at 9 a.m. Bring work gloves, water and a snack or lunch. Tools will be provided.
The Second Sunday Singletrack Session work parties will continue each month throughout the season. Upcoming work parties include May 11, Lightning Creek Trail; June 8, Cedar Creek Trail. The July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, and Oct. 12 work party locations are yet to be determined.
