An eight-week series of Wednesday afternoon hill climbs — running or just hiking — at Lewis Butte begins today (April 2) and runs through May 21. The climbs, sponsored by Cascades Outdoor Store in Winthrop, start at the Riser Lake parking lot, off of Gunn Ranch Road. Participants can take off between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. and will be timed. The one-mile climb gains 1,000 feet in elevation. For more information, call 996-7675.
