The Methow Valley’s version of rush hour took place last Saturday (Nov. 2) when 300 head of cattle headed home to PMM Ranch on the Twisp-Winthrop Eastside Road after spending the summer grazing on national forest allotments. The cattle were being moved from fall pasture on the Big Buck Reserve Area via Highway 20 north of Twisp. Eight volunteers helped in the annual cattle drive led by Dave and Shauna Hicks, who manage the herd for ranch owners Del and Donna Prewitt. The cattle will spend the winter eating hay and getting ready for calving in February.
