Plaintiffs seek ‘quiet title’ to portion of French Creek-Texas Creek Road

Gamble Land & Timber and Cascade Holdings Group have filed a lawsuit charging that Okanogan County claimed 7.66 miles of French Creek-Texas Creek Road in 1955 without any right to the property.

The complaint to “quiet title” was filed in Okanogan County Superior Court on March 3.

County considers ending public access on several roads

Okanogan County is considering vacating 11 roads, four in or near the Methow Valley, having determined that they are no longer needed for public use.

Some sections are a fraction of a mile, while others are as long as 7 miles. If all the road segments were closed, it would affect more than 36 miles.

Homes evacuated on Texas Creek as fire advances
