A free six-week course in Buddhist meditation will be offered on Tuesday nights beginning May 28 and running through July 2 at Room One in Twisp. The U.S. Forest Service will not do any prescribed burns this week because of the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, so that no smoke will intrude on holiday events. Because of recent rains, prescribed burns in the valley were limited during the week, the Forest Service said.
