Petra Kellie says she “kind of fell into” her new job as general manager of the Freestone Inn in Mazama. Kellie took over in late September after previous managers Chris Miller and JoAnna Howard took a job at a resort in the Bahamas.
Since stepping into her new role, Kellie has been busy managing six departments and 20 employees, as well as staffing up for the busy holiday season.
“I’m still learning my job as I go along,” Kellie said. Kellie has worked at the Freestone Inn, in various departments, since 2014 when she was hired as a server. The Freestone opened for business in 1996.
Okanogan County is considering an application for a new cannabis store in the town of Methow. The applicant plans to be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The store, to be called Dabnabbits, would sell marijuana, marijuana-infused products, and related paraphernalia. It would be in the former Methow grocery store, which, although it has been vacant for years, wouldn’t require any remodeling, according to the application. The applicants have installed security cameras.
Winthrop’s long tradition of a main street real estate presence endures with the opening of the valley’s newest real estate agency, Mountain to River Realty, which began serving clients last January.
Owned by brokers Ina Clark and Brian Colin, Mountain to River Realty is located just east of Confluence Park in downtown Winthrop, in the former Fasse North Cascades Realty office. In fact, Mountain to River Realty bought Fasse’s infrastructure (the physical space, the furniture, the office equipment), and most of Fasse’s agents, including Dale Fasse himself, stayed on as agents with Mountain to River. The result is a bustling agency with a brisk business serving buyers and sellers of Methow Valley homes and properties.
