The Methow Valley Nordic Ski Education Foundation (MVNSEF) hosted its Skiathon community event and youth team fundraiser on Sunday (Oct. 18) at Pearrygin Lake State Park.
Nordic team members skied, biked, or ran 385 kilometers and raised a total of $13,563 from 81 donors. Funds raised through the Skiathon will help MVNSEF keep youth team registration fees affordable despite rising costs, while also providing financial aid to families who need additional support.
“At the core of our organization is the belief that every child who wants to join the Nordic team should have that opportunity,” said MVNSEF Executive Director Justine Lucia.
