Senior news: October 21, 2026

October 22, 2026 by Methow Valley News

Locals should be well costumed after the rollout of Halloween wear and accoutrements. It’s not too late to shop the items on Saturday (Oct. 24). The Thrift Store is closing in on the last Saturday that it will be open, which is Halloween Day. Saturday shopping will retire for the winter months.

Once a month volunteers meet for an update on all things informational about the thrift store and its events. One such event — after a year off due to the Community Center renovation — is the Veterans’ Day Lunch, which will again be held on Nov. 11. Thrift Store volunteers will help serve and clean up.

After some volunteer resignations and others with medical issues, the volunteer staff was replenished with three new volunteers.
