Young actors in the valley are invited to be part of the show in November when Missoula Children’s Theatre returns to the community for a week of theater instruction followed by performances of “Rapunzel,” described as “a wonderfully wacky musical adventure that takes audiences on a frivolous frolic through the French countryside.”
Missoula Children’s Theatre’s professional touring directors arrive with costumes, sets, music, and an original musical production, then work with local children to create a full-scale show in just one week.
Local students in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to audition. No previous theater experience is required. Auditions are on Monday, Nov. 9, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Cub Gym at Methow Valley Elementary School.
Following auditions, selected students will spend the week rehearsing, learning their roles, working with the Missoula Children’s Theatre directors, and preparing for two public performances.
The free performances will be on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. at the elementary school.
