Back Country Horsemen meet
The Methow Valley Back Country Horsemen will meet on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Masonic Hall on Highway 20 in Twisp. Snacks at 5:30 p.m., meeting at 6 p.m. The fall color ride will be Oct. 8-10, which includes a campout at Loup Loup Horse Camp. Potluck on Saturday at 3 p.m. For information, call (509) 279-8717.
Pearrygin Lake hydroplane races
The annual Winthrop Hydroplane Regatta at Pearrygin Lake, sponsored by the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce and hosted by the Whidbey Island Roostertails, returns on Oct. 3 and 4. The weekend features high-speed racing, shoreline viewing and family-friendly fun. Racingwill be from at 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
