Joseph Dawson Caillier, 81, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2026. He was born on May 31,1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Victor and Mary Caillier. Joe graduated from Eastmont High School. He held several jobs on both sides of the state before moving to the Methow Valley and owning Riverbend RV Park. He also worked as a wildland firefighter for Boulder Creek Contracting.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and little practical jokes, his ability to fix things, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. After retirement he enjoyed camping with friends. Joe was also a strong advocate for motorized sports in the Methow Valley. At the time of his death, he was the president of Mountain Trails Grooming Association, a member of the North Central ATV Club of Washington and the Methow Valley Eagles No. 2584.
He is survived by his wife at home, Margell, his sister Claudia Auger and four nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers James and Edward.
