Bike Rodeo
A Bike Rodeo for ages 4-12 will be staged on Sunday (Aug. 9) from 10 a.m.-noon at the boat launch parking lot at Pearrygin Lake State Park. The free event is hosted and supported by Aero Methow Rescue Service, Pearrygin Lake State Park, Methow Cycle and Sport, Winthrop Kiwanis, Twisp Police Department, Winthrop Marshall, and Okanogan County Fire District 6.
A parent permission slip is required for all participants. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m. It’s a free parking day, so no Discover Pass is required.
Bring a helmet, it’s required for riding. Helmets are also available by donation.
There will be free bike inspections, as well as instruction in maneuvering and riding in traffic.
Loup Loup Golf Scramble
Loup Loup Ski Bowl hosts its second annual Golf Scramble, a fundraising event, on Saturday (Aug. 8) at Bear Creek Golf Course near Winthrop. Back Country Horsemen
The Methow Valley Back Country Horsemen will meet on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Masonic Hall in. Twisp. There will be snacks at 5:30 p.m.; the meeting begins at 6 p.m. The group is planning a ride at Loup Loup horse camp in October. For information, call (509) 279-8717.
