Jones-Mowen is Scholar Athlete
The Northwest Conference announced that Liberty Bell High School graduate Cassidy Jones-Mowen, currently attending Linfield University in Oregon, has been named to its Scholar Athletes list for 2026. Jones-Mowen, a marketing major, participated as a member of the women’s wrestling team.
Fly fishing camp for kids
Methow Valley Fly Fishers is hosting a Youth Fly Fishing Camp for kids ages 12-16 on Aug. 4-6, 9 a.m.-noon each day at Mack Lloyd Park in Winthrop. Included are hands-on instruction in casting, fly selection, gear setup, entomology, knots, basic etiquette, and fun. Registration is $125 and each participant receives a Redington Wrangler Starter Rod Kit as part of the program. Loup Loup Golf Scramble
Loup Loup Ski Bowl hosts its second annual Golf Scramble, a fundraising event, on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Bear Creek Golf Course near Winthrop.
