The North Cascades Highway was closed for several hours last Saturday as crews pulled an overturned fuel tanker truck from the ditch near Rainy Pass. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), no one was seriously injured in the accident. It took three large tow trucks to extract the 11,000-gallon tanker in steep terrain, WSDOT said.
