Okanogan County 2024 Property Tax Revenues
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Okanogan County Commissioners that a Public Hearing is scheduled, in accordance with RCW 84.55.120, on the revenue sources for the Districts following year’s Current Expense, Miscellaneous & Road Fund budgets. The Public Hearing will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in order to hear public testimony on the County’s Current Expense, Miscellaneous & Road Fund Revenue budgets for the year 2024 including the consideration of possible increases in property tax revenues. The County’s Current Expense, Miscellaneous, and Road Fund budgets are primarily funded by taxes and charges and reflect the provision of ongoing services. Schoettler Clapsaddle Residential Addition SCUP 2023-1
Corrected Notice of Application Public Hearing and Threshold SEPA Determination
An application has been submitted by Ryan Walker on behalf of John Schoettler & Jeff Clapsaddle for a Shoreline Conditional Use Permit and a 25% Administrative Reduction of the 150 ft Category II Riverine Wetland Buffer (Wetland A) and the 110 ft Category III Depressional Wetland Buffer (Wetland B) for moderate impact land uses pursuant to OCSMP 14.15.110.E.3.b. in order to construct an addition onto the existing residence with a 968 sq ft garage and 715 sq ft of living space with a 290 sq ft covered deck. A reduction to the wetland buffers would allow the addition to be constructed in a portion of the parcel that is primarily comprised of irrigated lawngrass and the graveled driveway and parking area. The proposed construction is entirely within the mapped Severe Channel Migration zone. A Geotechnical Report and a Habitat Management and Mitigation Plan has been submitted for the proposal. The site is located at 18307C Highway 20 near Mazama WA on tax parcel number 3520040020.
The Okanogan County SEPA Responsible official issued a mitigated threshold environmental determination of non-significance (MDNS) in accordance with WAC 197-11-350. SEPA Comments must be submitted in writing no later than 5:00 p.m., November 16, 2023 All comments will be reviewed for relevance, and if necessary additional conditions will be added to the Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance. If no comments are received the MDNS will stand as final.
The public hearing for this project is scheduled for December 14, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Commissioners Hearing Room. Project comments for the SCUP must be submitted in writing or can be submitted up to the hearing date and testimony may be given at the hearing. A poll-site election for a board seat on the Okanogan Conservation District will be held on March 12, 2024 at 1251 2nd Ave. South, Okanogan, WA 98840. Polls will open at 2:00 PM and close at 6:00 PM. Registered voters who reside within the Conservation District boundary are eligible to vote. The last day and time an eligible voter can request an absentee ballot from the District is February 20, 2024, by 3:00 PM. Ballots can be requested by calling the Okanogan Conservation District Election Officer, Becky Drenner, at (509) 429-3418 or emailing becky@okanogancd.org. Ballots returned by mail to 1251 2nd Ave. South, Rm. 101, Okanogan, WA 98840 must be post-marked no later than Election Day, March 12, 2024.
Candidates interested in the elected position must be registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the Okanogan Conservation District. Election candidates may be required to be landowners or operators of a farm, depending on the current composition of the District board of supervisors. The filing deadline for candidates to file their candidate required information is February 9, 2024, at 3:00 PM. METHOW VALLEY IRRIGATION DISTRICT
BUDGET MEETING
The Methow Valley Irrigation District’s Board of Directors will conduct the district’s annual budget meeting on Monday, November 13th, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the basement of the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp, Washington.
The purpose of the meeting is to approve a budget for 2024. The regular meeting of the MVID will immediately follow the budget meeting.
