A 74-year-old Bothell man driving a motorcycle was injured in an accident on Highway 153 about 4 miles north of Pateros on Sept. 17, the Washington State Patrol reported.
According to the State Patrol, Leonard W. Vermeulen was northbound at about 11 a.m. and “failed to slow for roadway conditions and struck the guard rail” at a curve in the road. Vermeulen was transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, the report said.
The report said Vermeulen was wearing an approved helmet. There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the State Patrol.
