Local golfer Andrew Carr shot a pair of 3-over-par 75s on Sept. 8 and 9 to win the 2023 Bear Creek Men’s Club Championship. It was his second straight win in the tournament.
Jim Hynd took home the net handicap trophy with net scores of 67 and 69 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Hynd nailed a hole-in-one using an eight iron on the 143-yard 11th hole during Saturday’s round.
Other course contest winners during the annual championship included Closest to the Pin both days. On Saturday, Joe Staebler, Hynd (two, including his hole-in-one) and Silas Shaw won the honors; on Sunday honors went to Brad King, Jim Grady and Hynd, who ran his weekend total to four with two more on the final round.
The Bear Creek Men’s Club will continue to play on Wednesday evenings through September. Tee time is 4:30 p.m. with a $5 entry fee. Guests are welcome.
