A community gathering to honor the memory of Kierra Reichert, the 2022 Liberty Bell High School graduate who died in an automobile accident on July 18, will be on Saturday (Aug. 12) at the Winthrop Barn, starting at 2 p.m. There will be a reception in Mack Lloyd Park after the memorial. Attendees are asked to bring plates, utensils and cups.
The Methow Valley School District has organized a grief workshop to help teens and young adults cope with the loss of Reichert, along with support and training for staff and students in advance of the school year.
The workshop is Wednesday (Aug. 9) at 6 p.m. in the Liberty Bell High School library. Facilitated by Oori Silberstein, the workshop is designed to provide teens and young adults with a safe space to mourn the loss of Reichert and to help them make sense of the grieving process. The school district is organizing specialized grief training for staff before the start of the school year.
