Susan Stone, 75, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Susan is survived by her husband, Robert Stone, her daughter Tedra Acheson, her son Jon-Eric Stone, her grandson Lochlan Stone, her brothers, Tim and Steve Robinson, and her sister Terri Rollinson. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Ivan Robinson.
Susan was born in California but was raised in New York and Connecticut. She went to university in Illinois where she met her husband Robert. Susan and Robert were married in Connecticut and soon welcomed their daughter Tedra and then almost five years later their son Jon-Eric.
Susan and Robert moved around the western United States and Canada until they settled in the Methow Valley. Susan was an incredibly talented artist. She worked with stained glass, knitted, and crocheted but she was best known for her delectable desserts. Her dessert of the month item for the live auction at the Bite of the Methow put on by Winthrop Kiwanis was very popular.
While living in Arizona, Susan took cake decorating classes and that started her foray into making the delicious works of art that her friends and family all knew and loved. Susan then refined her skills when she graduated from pastry school while living in Montreal, Canada. Susan’s creations were well known in the valley and she even applied her skills at the Cinnamon Twisp Bakery. Susan loved to make people happy through food. That was her love language. Her greatest impact on others however was as a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be announced at a later date.
