Methow Valley residents can indicate interest in free internet installation, part of a new fiber optic construction project, by submitting their names online at okanogancountyconnect.com.
Town hall meetings are being hosted by Okanogan County Electric Cooperative and Methownet to share information about the federally funded fiber optic project. The final meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 3 p.m., at the Winthrop Barn.
Methow Community Club
The Methow Community Club, a newly formed nonprofit organization, will hold its first annual members meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, in the old schoolhouse in Methow. Members are invited to share their ideas for this new organization and to vote for the board of directors.

Friends of the Pool celebration
Friends of the Pool will host an “Extend Gratitude and Celebrate the Petition” gathering at the Wagner Memorial Pool on Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 6-8 p.m. The event, open to the public, will include pizza and other refreshments, and free swimming.
Friends of the Pool has been circulating a petition to put a proposed Methow Aquatics District on the November general election ballot. The effort collected more than 1,200 signatures, several hundred more than necessary to qualify for the ballot. The Okanogan County Auditor’s Office is verifying the signatures.
