Methow Valley residents can indicate interest in free internet installation, part of a new fiber optic construction project, by submitting their names online at okanogancountyconnect.com.
Town hall meetings are being hosted by Okanogan County Electric Cooperative and Methownet to share information about the federally funded fiber optic project. The remaining meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, July 19, 5 p.m., at the Twisp Valley Grange, and Wednesday, July 26, 3 p.m., at the Winthrop Barn.
Library activities
At the Twisp library:
• July 19 — My Story, 6 p.m. An evening of short, true stories told by your friends and neighbors Refreshments provided by the Twisp Library Friends. Free.
At the Winthrop library:
• Family Storytime, July 20 and 27, 10:30 a.m.
• Teen Tuesdays, July 18 and 25, 3:30-4:30 p.m., activities and snacks exclusively for kids aged 12-18.
• Open Makerspace, July 21 and 28, noon-5 p.m. All ages welcome, but kids under age 7 may need adult help.
• July 18-29, during library open hours, create complex scenes with LEGO pieces. Builders will have all week to work on their scenes; completed scenes will be submitted for display at the library.
