The Town of Twisp will hold a public workshop to update the status of the town’s Housing Action Plan and solicit public feedback, on Monday, June 26, at 6 p.m. in the Civic Building council chambers.
The plan is intended to provide an outline of possible actions Twisp can take to address the challenges of housing affordability and accessibility.
The La Conner-based Beckwith Consulting Group has been hired to come up with Housing Action Plans for Winthrop and Twisp within the context of the greater Methow Valley’s housing market conditions. The studies are funded by a $50,000 state grant that is being shared by the two towns. The Winthrop Planning Commission hosted a public workshop on the status of that town’s Housing Action Plan on May 25. Attendees heard presentations by firm principal Tom Beckwith, who reviewed data and information collected not only about Winthrop’s housing market but also county and state factors affecting housing markets. Work on the plans began in September of 2022.
The Twisp workshop is open to anyone in the valley. In-person attendance is recommended because the meeting format is interactive through circulation to topic-oriented tables; however, remote attendance through Zoom will be an option. For more information, email clerktreasurer@townoftwisp.com.
Twisp is also conducting an online Housing Action Plan community survey; visit www.townoftwisp.com to find the link.
