The Goat Gravel Grinder, a 35-mile gravel bike race through the Methow Valley, was staged on Saturday (June 3) by Cascade Endurance, followed by a post-race party. Riders pedaled through a 4,500-foot elevation gain and traversed some excellent scenery. The field included 39 riders. The winner in 2 hours, 23 minutes was Spencer Jones, seen in 2nd place early in the race in the upper left photo. Leading at that time was valley resident Solomon Woras, who eventually finished 2nd, about 3 minutes behind Jones.
