The Central Washington 2B League recently completed announcing its 2023 All-League honors.
The baseball honors had been named just ahead of the rest, but Coach David Aspholm forgot to mention one very important one: Coach of the Year. Aspholm guided the young Mountain Lions to 2nd place in the CW2B regular season and a No. 2 seed into the district tournament.
The 2023 honors for Liberty Bell softball were limited this year after a 7th-place finish in the CW2B. Sophomore outfielder Violet Chrastina was named to the All-League second team; Kaylee Mitchell and Cassidy Jones-Mowen were named to the Honorable Mention list.
Freshman Bodie Thomson earned first-team honors on the All-CWB boys’ soccer squad. Sophomore Finn Simmons was the lone Mountain Lion on the second team, and freshman goalkeeper Alex Ramsey-George was named to the Honorable Mention list.
Liberty Bell tennis Coach Dave Schulz joined Aspholm with Coach of the Year honors. Late-season doubles players Ezekiel (EZ) Kirk and Gavin Blank earned a second-team nomination. Honorable Mention included boys’ doubles team Connor Herlihy and Gannet Fisher along with girls’ singles player Claudia Gomez.
