Artists and artisans will display their works on a portion of Glover Street that will be closed off starting at 11 a.m. as part of the Twisp Spring Art Walk activities.
The Twisp Spring Art Walk, featuring artists, makers, musicians and food vendors, will be happening all day on Saturday (May 20).
The free event, sponsored by the Twisp Chamber of Commerce and Twisp Creative District with support from local businesses, starts from 9 a.m.-noon at the Methow Valley Farmers Market, continues from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with shopping and activities such as street Scrabble and a community chalk mural on Glover Street, and continues into the evening with live music and food vendors from 11 a.m. forward at the TwispWorks campus.
There will be a live DJ at Methow Arts, and performances by Cascadia Music. The Shift will take the Pavilion stage at TwispWorks from 3-5 p.m.
A portion of Glover Street will be closed from Second to Third avenues, where vendors and a food truck will set up.
At last week’s Twisp Town Council meeting, Public Works Director Andrew Denham said the intersection of Glover Street and Second Avenue needs to be partially opened so that traffic does not become bottled up on Glover Street. He recommended that the northwest corner of the intersection be open to allow southbound traffic on Glover to use Second Avenue westbound to leave, rather than having to back up and turn around, and to allow eastbound traffic on Second Avenue to turn north on Glover.
Jamie Petitto, the chamber’s marketing director, asked that street barricades be provided at the site the night before or very early Saturday so that volunteers can begin blocking off the street early Saturday morning.
