Saturday was a great day for a parade to launch a host of activities at Winthrop’s annual ’49er Days festivities. On hand to preside over the celebration were Grand Lady Judy Burkhart and Marshal Aaron Burkhart, in the top left photo, as well as junior royalty Queen Rio Bourn Lott and Princess Zoe Kaltenbach, lower right photo. Many of the usual favorites, including the Western Vigilantes, the West Coast Country Heat dancers, the Mountain Men and Okanogan County Fire District 6 also enlivened the parade. Oh, and there were horses — lots of horses.
