The Earth Day Celebration in 2022 drew an impressive crowd to the John Doran Ranch, where they found plenty to do.
Methow Recycles’ second annual Earth Day Celebration, a fundraiser that will feature live music, dancing, food, displays, demonstrations, local vendors and a kids’ upcycled costume parade, takes over the John Doran Ranch just north of Twisp on Saturday (April 22), from 1-6 p.m.
Entertainment will be by Ken Bevis and friends, the Riverside Blues Band, Makeup Sax, Angus Berkes and The Full Uplift, readings by Confluence Poets, and more.
There will also be a Repair Café. An “educational village” will offer information from 18 local organizations including the Okanogan County Resource Conservation District, the Washington Butterfly Association, Methow Valley Interpretive Center, Yakama Nation Fisheries, Home Range Wildlife Research and B2G Compost.
Learn about resources on a variety of topics like worm composting, stream bank restoration, land management, and waste reduction. Local meat and vegetable vendors and food trucks and local restaurants will be on hand, as well as other Methow made products. Bring your own chairs.
Tickets are $25; kids 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased at www.methowrecycles.org/events/earth-day, brownpapertickets.com or in person at Methow Recycles. All proceeds will go to support Methow Recycles’ programs.
