FYRE (the Foundation for Youth Resiliency & Engagement), a nonprofit serving young people in Okanogan County, is hosting the Glow Gala on Saturday (April 22), to showcase its successes and raise money for future programs.
The fundraising gala is at 5:30 p.m. at the 12 Tribes Omak Casino Hotel.
Billed as a “red-carpet evening,” the gala includes a dinner featuring tastes of the Northwest and an auction/raffle. Auction items include a helicopter ride, a year’s worth of coffee, a private party at the Mirage movie theater in Omak, and youth beading. All attendees will be photographed on the red carpet by a professional photographer.
FYRE’s mission is to advocate equitable opportunities that allow all youth to thrive. FYRE focuses on four main areas: education, physical and mental health, basic needs, and resiliency programming. The foundation offers free services to meet the needs of underserved youth ages 12 to 24.
FYRE advocates educational opportunities and increased access to whole-person health services and supports young parents. The foundation provides referrals and resources for youth experiencing homelessness or sexual exploitation.
Mountain (MTN) is a recreational space at FYRE’s headquarters in Omak where young people can hang out every afternoon from Monday through Thursday. Special programs include life skills, youth leadership council, nature immersion, tutoring, a Pride group, and opportunities for summer youth employment. FYRE’s services are available to all young people in Okanogan County.
Tickets are $75 for individuals. Drink tickets are sold separately. There are also ticket options for tables for six ($650), eight ($1,000), or 10 ($2,000), which offer guaranteed seating and, depending on the table level, specials such as drinks, a session with FYRE’s executive directors, and inscription of donors’ names on the wall at FYRE’s headquarters.
People must be 21 or over to attend the gala. Attendees are asked to wear cocktail attire.
