

Former Washington Poet Laureate Kathleen Flenniken will join local poet Subhaga Crystal Bacon and members of the Confluence Poets in a reading and book signing for Bacon’s newest book, “Surrender of Water in Hidden Places,” at The Confluence: Art in Twisp on Friday, April 21, from 7 -9 p.m.
Flenniken is the author of three poetry collections, most recently “Post Romantic” (2020). Her poems appear in the new anthologies “Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, Poetry, and “Poetry Unbound: 50 Poems to Open your World.” She served as Washington State Poet Laureate from 2012-2014.
Bacon is the author of four collections: “Elegy with a Glass of Whiskey,” “Blue Hunger,” “Surrender of Water in Hidden Places,” and “Transitory,” forthcoming from BOA Editions in November. “Surrender of Water” won the 2022 Red Flag Poetry Chapbook prize. BOA Editions recently announced that Bacon was awarded the Isabella Gardner Poetry Award for “Transitory.”
