Betsy Cushman fills in; replacement search begins
Methow Arts announced this week that longtime Executive Director Amanda Jackson Mott has resigned to pursue personal interests and spend more time with her family.
Jackson Mott worked at Methow Arts for 15 years, 12 of them as executive director. She oversaw the organization’s many community events and the move of Methow Arts to its current Glover Street location in 2018.
The Methow Arts Board of Directors named former Methow Recycles Executive Director Betsy Cushman as consulting director. Cushman, an independent nonprofit consultant who serves on the boards of the Community Foundation of North Central Washington and the Methow Valley Fund, will provide management of the organization and assist the board with the search for new leadership, according to a press release.
Board President Maddie James said, “We are enthusiastic about the skills and experience Betsy will apply to helping the board shape the up-coming chapter of Methow Arts.”
Methow Arts’ core programs include providing arts education programs in six school districts: Brewster, Leavenworth, Methow Valley, Okanogan, Omak, and at the Paschal Sherman Indian School on the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. Art programming through Methow Arts’ Artist-in-Residence programs in these school districts will continue as planned under the direction of Arts Education Director Margaret Kingston, according to the release.
