Conservancy’s Sunny M Ranch campaign
The Methow Conservancy will offer an information session about its campaign to purchase a portion of the former Sunny M Ranch, via Zoom on Monday (March 13) from 5-6 p.m. Executive Director Sarah Brooks and Associate Director Ashley Lodato will present the project and answer questions. Drought planning
The Okanogan Conservation District, Methow Watershed Council and Resilient Methow are teaming up to present “Drought Planning: Water Resilience in the Methow,” a public meeting to advance the local conversation around water quality and quantity in the valley, on Thursday (March 9) from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Winthrop library.
There will be several guest speakers. The event will address the topic of drought from the physical, practical and legal aspects as well as what can be done to plan and prepare. Discussion points include, what are the major issues around water quality and quantity in our communities; and what are local agencies and community groups doing about these issues?

Health concerns in the county
Methow At Home hosts a free online presentation, “Leading Public Health Concerns in Okanogan County,” with Dr. James Wallace, on Thursday (March 9) from 4-5 p.m. Wallace is a physician with Family Health Centers. Register at methowathome.org.

‘Spring Forward’
The Okanogan Land Trust hosts “Spring Forward,” a free event celebrating the arrival of spring, on Saturday (March 11) from noon-4 p.m. at the Community Cultural Center in Tonasket. Recreation and wildlife
Join the Methow Conservancy, Home Range Wildlife Research and Conservation Northwest for a free presentation on wildlife-recreation dynamics in Washington, on Tuesday (March 14) at 6:30 p.m. at the Twisp River Tap House. IB feedback sought
Opportunities to provide input on the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Methow Valley Elementary School and Liberty Bell High School are coming up next week.
The schools were authorized in 2017, and every five years, the IB organization conducts an evaluation and provides feedback on school programs.
Four educators from the IB program will visit the schools. Parents and families are encouraged to participate and provide feedback.
• The Primary Years Program evaluation team will meet with families at the elementary school on Monday (March 13) at 11:15 a.m.
• The Middle Years Program team will meet with families at Liberty Bell on Monday (March 13) at 4:30 p.m.
• The Middle Years team will present their findings in the Liberty Bell library on Tuesday (March 14) at 4:30 p.m.
