Morris sculpture auction
A glass sculpture donated by internationally renowned artist William Morris will be offered at auction in an online fundraiser for Classroom in Bloom. Online bidding for the piece, called “Standing Stone,” begins Thursday (March 2) at https://www.32auctions.com/ClassroominBloom.com and concludes March 9. The starting bid is $4,500. Proceeds will benefit Classroom in Bloom’s farm and education programs. There will also be an opening celebration, by reservation only, on March 2 at Methow Arts starting at 5:30 p.m. Seating is limited; cost is by donation. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at Merc
The Merc Playhouse’s Tom Zbyszewski Children’s Theater will stage “Beauty and the Beast,” an adaption and dramatization of the classic story by Vera Morris, opening March 10 and continuing through March 26. The production is directed by Jane Orme and choreographed by Missi Smith.

Methow Pride stages ‘Snowball’
Methow Pride presents “Snowball,” a dance party and drag show, on March 11 at the Twisp Valley Grange, from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Cost is $10. The event features live music, dancing, a drag show by the Ice Queens of Wenatchee and Chelan, a photo booth by Sunfire Photography, and crowning of a Snowball king and queen. All ages are welcome.
