
“Standing Stone,” a glass sculpture by acclaimed artist William Morris, will be offered in a fundraising, online auction by Classroom in Bloom.
A glass sculpture donated by internationally renowned artist William Morris will be offered at auction in an online fundraiser for Classroom in Bloom.
Online bidding for the piece, called “Standing Stone,” begins March 2 at https://www.32auctions.com/ClassroominBloom.com and concludes March 9. The starting bid is $4,500 for the sculpture, which according to Classroom in Bloom is valued at $12,000. All proceeds will benefit Classroom in Bloom’s farm and education programs.

The sculpture stands 23 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide, and 4 inches indepth. It has internal LED lighting which brings the inanimate stone to life.
“Standing Stone” will be at the Methow Arts office in Twisp for viewing by appointment. There will also be an opening celebration, by reservation only, on March 2 at Methow Arts starting t 5:30 p.m., with wine and cheese. Seating is limited; cost is by donation.
