Repair Café resumes
Methow Recycles’ first Repair Café of 2023 will be on Saturday (Jan. 21), from 10 a.m.-noon at The Cove in Twisp. Volunteers will be fixing anything from space heaters to winter coats, stuffed animals and power tools. Items must be small enough to be carried and not leaking fluids or be hazardous in any way. Be prepared to stay with your item during its repair, and bring any parts you think you may be needed. Visit http://methowrecycles.org for more information.
Seed swap at library
The Winthrop library will host a seed swap on Saturday (Jan. 21), from 2-4 p.m. Share your extra seeds and garden plans with others at the free event. Gardening books will be available to browse, and Classroom in Bloom representatives will be present to help answer gardening or seed-saving questions. Your charitable legacy
Methow At Home offers the free online presentation, “Creating Your Charitable Legacy: Caring for Causes You Love Well Beyond Your Lifetime” on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 9-10 a.m. The event features Natalie Kuehler, owner of The Kuehler Law Firm in Winthrop, and Beth Stipe, executive Director of the Community Foundation of NCW. Stipe will discuss various ways to leave a charitable legacy. Kuehler will be available to answer questions about creating or updating your will or estate plan. To register, visit methowathome.org.
Builders, architects invited
The inaugural meeting of Methow Valley Building Science, an informal gathering of local builders, architects and designers, is set for Thursday, Jan. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at Methow Valley Lumber.
Discussion will focus on energy-efficient building in the valley. Potential topics for discussion may include: best Methow Valley practices for energy-efficient building; how to build well and affordably; what new and interesting materials and systems are out there; and Washington State Energy Code requirements.

Whodunnits for sale
The Twisp library will host a mystery book sale at the Methow Valley Community Center on Friday, Feb. 3, from 4-7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the library. Sunny M Ranch info sessions
The Methow Conservancy has scheduled two public information sessions to explain the details of its plan to purchase 1,200 acres of the Sunny M Ranch from the Haub family, and the fundraising effort related to the purchase. There will be a question-and-answer session after each presentation. The in-person meetings are:
• Friday, Feb. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Twisp Valley Grange, with live music by The Apostles, light snacks and a no-host bar.
• Sunday, Feb. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the Winthrop Barn, with light snacks.
A Zoom session will also be scheduled.

Interpretive Center open

The Winthrop library hosts a weekly storytime session with stories, songs and rhymes on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Storytime is a place for parents and caregivers to join in the fun and interact with their children This storytime is aimed at preschool-aged children, but all are welcome.
