Cascadia Music presents a tribute to legendary jazz pianist and composer Bill Evans, featuring Lynette Westendorf on piano, Dave Nolet on bass and Kirk Schumacher on drums, at the Methow Valley Community Center on Saturday (Jan. 7).
The concert begins at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Presale tickets are $20 each or $140 for a table of six. Tickets at the door are $25. Visit cascadiamusic.org for presale tickets.
Evans, who died in 1980, is described at “the mid-20th century’s pre-eminent lyrical jazz pianist” in a Cascadia press release. “He is known for complex extended harmony, subtle rhythmic nuance and, most of all, his superb depth of tone at the piano,” the release said.
Nolet, Westendorf and Schumacher have been in rehearsal for several months, according to the release.
