Liberty Bell High School basketball teams will finish the year by hosting Chelan on New Year’s Eve (Saturday, Dec. 31). JV games start at 10 a.m., the varsity girls play at 11:30 a.m., and the boys tip off at 1 p.m.

Ski Rodeo returns
Methow Valley Nordic’s Ski Rodeo will be staged on Saturday (Dec. 31), on the Sean McCabe trails at Liberty Bell High School. The event starts at noon this year. There will be five races from 1.4 to 10 kilometers, for all age groups, plus relays. There will be no race-day registration. Prizes will be provided by Nordic Ultratune. Winthrop Trailhead parkrun
The Winthrop Trail parkrun — a free, weekly, timed 5-kilometer run/jog/walk — takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturdays starting from the Methow Trails parking on Horizon Flat Road.
