‘Book of Liz’ at Merc
A Readers Theater production of “Book of Liz,” a comedic play by Amy and David Sedaris, will open on Jan. 6 at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp and continue through Jan. 15.
The play is directed by Phil Quevillon. According to The Merc’s website, the play’s central character is Sister Elizabeth Donderstock, “who is feeling unappreciated in her Squeamish community and decides to try her luck in the outside world. She abandons her fellow brethren to their own devices in making her famous cheese balls. They quickly discover that her cheese ball recipe cannot be recreated and panic that she has sabotaged their recipe.”
Performances are at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6, 7, 13 and 14; and at 2 p.m. on Jan. 15. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. Tickets are $10 at the door; there are no advance sales. For information, visit www.mercplayhouse.org/happening-now.html.
