David “Dave” Maxwell Williams, 32, passed Sept. 28, 2022, after 11 years of prolonged illness. Dave is survived by his parents Karen Williams and Marty Williams of Twisp, sisters Kim and Holly, nephew Howie, niece Maya, and extended family in California and Colorado.
Dave loved the Methow Valley and will always be a valley kid. Dave attended Twisp Preschool, Methow Valley Elementary, and graduated from Liberty Bell High School in 2008. He attended the University of Washington in Seattle, where he studied physics and worked on machining parts for a particle accelerator. Dave read math and science textbooks for fun, was a gifted programmer, and loved to dive deeply into anything technical. Dave loved adventure and new experiences. He traveled to China, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands as an undergrad student. He had a knack for languages and witty jokes. David loved to run, but his true passion was for all things music, particularly the guitar.
Dave is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many. His unique perspective, quirky and sometimes mischievous sense of humor, and desire to lead his life his own way left a strong impression wherever he went. Dave will be remembered for many of his qualities — curiosity, rebelliousness, bravery and kindness — and through the stories of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. No public services will be held, but any who would like to honor Dave are encouraged to gather their friends and family and listen to some funky guitar. Dave would have enjoyed that.
