The Methow Valley Theater was ready to stage “The Wizard of Oz” in 2020 when COVID-19 intervened, as it did in almost all live local productions.
Now the theater in Twisp is bringing the production back, with auditions set for this month, rehearsals to begin in January and shows set for late April and early May, 2023.
“The previous cast was stellar, and we hope many of those cast members will return to try again,” the theater said in a press release.
Auditions at the community center are:
• Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. for kids 12 and under; 4:30 p.m. for 13 and older.
• Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. for kids 12 and under; 7 p.m. for ages 13 and older.
Specific dates for rehearsals are to be determined but will start in January. If you are interested in helping with production in any capacity (lights, sets, green room, music, stage crew, publicity, painting, etc.), call (509) 429-0454.
The show will be staged in the Methow Valley Community Center, which now features improved acoustics, a new sound system, and new theater lights. The stage directors are Nadine Van Hees and Maggie Wicken; musical director is Lynette Westendorf.
Show dates are April 28, 29, 30 and May 4, 5, 6, 7. Visit www.methowvalleytheater.org for more information or call (509) 429-0454.
