Salyna Gracie has been named executive director of Methow At Home, the local nonprofit that provides support and services for its members who want to age in place.
Gracie, a 30-year resident of the Methow Valley, is familiar to many as the executive director of The Confluence: Art in Twisp from 2014-2018, and then as interim director of the gallery this year.
Gracie will join current Methow at Home staffers including the most-recent executive director Tracy Sprauer, along with Deirdre Cassidy and Kathy Merwin.
Gracie has been a business owner, artist, nonprofit board member and mother, according to a Methow At Home press release. She is the owner of a Methow Housing Trust home.
“I have watched the seed of Methow At Home grow from a small group of visionary leaders into the thriving organization that is today,” Gracie said in the press release. “I am honored to work with the team at Methow At Home, growing and sustaining an organization that serves our aging neighbors and their families.”
Methow at Home board Chair Barb Preston said that “Salyna’s skills and experience are just what Methow At Home needs right now. The board, staff and I are excited by her passion for our mission and we look forward to our work together in service of our members.”
Methow At Home was founded in 2015 to assist those wishing to age in place by providing assistance and services including transportation, odd jobs, companionship and educational opportunities. Some 240 volunteers provide these and other support services to over 300 members. The organization is modeled after the “virtual village” concept that was pioneered elsewhere in the country and has been implemented in hundreds of communities.

Gracie served as interim executive director at The Confluence while the gallery’s board searched for a replacement for former executive director Kaileah Akker.
In July, The Confluence’s board announced that longtime art gallery director Betsy Fetherston had been chosen as executive director. She recently took over at the gallery in Twisp.
