The Harts Pass Road has reopened to regular traffic now that repairs are complete and the contractor removed debris from recent slides, the U.S. Forest Service said Monday (Sept. 19).
The contractor is still working on trailhead improvements near Harts Pass and heavy equipment is staged above the Harts Pass guard station. The public is advised to avoid the trailhead area during reconstruction.
People can anticipate delays and no parking near the guard station. They should expect to encounter heavy equipment working at the trailhead, which could make maneuvering past construction a challenge, according to the Forest Service.
