Poetry Journal release party
Poets from around the Columbia plateau will converge on Mazama at 7 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. ) 4 to read new work from the 2022 Shrub-Steppe Poetry Journal.
The poetry readings for this year’s release party for the Journal will be held on the back lawn of The Inn at Mazama.
The Journal is published annually by Shrub-Steppe Poetry, based in Wenatchee, and draws work from writers around the region. Editor Susan Blair’s team curates submissions and selects the best work for inclusion in the annual volume.
The Methow Valley release party is being coordinated by Confluence Poet Greg Wright. “Having a local release party is a terrific way to introduce writers to the valley, and introduce Methow audiences to writers from across the region.” Wright said.
In addition to Wright, this year’s edition of the Journal includes work from other of the Methow’s Confluence Poets — Subhaga Crystal Bacon, Christine Kendall and Sam Owen — as well as part-time valley residents Susan Lagsdin and Rod Nelson.
Copies of the 2022 Shrub-Steppe Poetry Journal will be for sale at the event.
