Brad King stroked a hole-in-one at Bear Creek Golf Course’s 234-yard 17th hole, his second “ace” on the course.
Longtime local Brad King scored a hole-in-one at the weekly Wednesday night gathering of the Bear Creek Golf Course Men’s Club on June 29. The “ace” came on the 234-yard par four 17th hole, hitting from the yellow tees, as required in the weekly team competition.
King used a 3 wood, hitting his ball toward the green. Nobody in the foursome saw the ball go in the hole.
“It looked like it was going straight for the green,” said the 65-year-old Twisp resident. “I totally lost sight of it. We got down to the green and couldn’t find the ball. I thought that it might have gone beyond the green, but we didn’t see it back there, nor anywhere around.”
King said he walked up to the hole, marked by a yellow flag near the back edge of the green, and found the ball in the cup.
According to King, he has been playing since he was 16 years old and has had one other ace, on the 112-yard, par 3 hole No. 2 at the local course, back in May of 2011.
The Bear Creek Men’s Club meets weekly, at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through September, playing a variety of team-oriented contests. Visitors are always welcome to play as a guest, and memberships are still available through 2022.
