The open swim period at the Wagner Memorial Pool drew a happy crowd of swimmers on a sunny Monday afternoon.
The Wagner Memorial Pool in Twisp has re-opened after being closed last week because of mechanical problems and staffing issues.
The pool had been closed because of the failure of the boiler that heats the pool’s water. At last week’s Town Council meeting, Public Works Director Andrew Denham said he was waiting for a replacement part and hoped to be able to reopen the pool soon.
According to the town’s website, the pool was set to reopen on Monday (June 20) — and it did.
Denham said that staffing issues, including having an adequate number of lifeguards, are “not entirely settled but we are getting closer.”
“It’s a significant struggle,” Denham said.
